I wrote this book with AI. Obviously.
It's a book about AI-generated videos used as weapons in an actual war. It documents a clip of mine — a synth-pop Donald Trump set to a 1986 French song — that was adopted by the Iranian embassy in South Africa during the 2026 US–Iran war. Not using AI to write the book would have been the strangest possible choice. Almost a lie.
I'm not defensive about it. Before this one, between 2005 and 2022, I wrote nine books by hand — seven short-story collections, one novel, one philosophical non-fiction book. A keyboard, a mug of coffee, nobody else in the room. I know how to do it that way. This time I chose the other way, because the other way is the subject.
